Hi y'all, I'm Erica!
I'm a student affairs professional with a love for communication, student development, and Strengths Quest.
I am hoping to become a student affairs professional working in orientation, the first-year experience, or career services, focusing on the success of marginalized students, including first-generation students.
I have a passion for travel and college football, and a true love for Broadway musicals. I am Cuban-American and take my food very seriously--ask me for my abuela's recipe for ropa vieja!

I am a student affairs professional who will actively work to help students find their purpose within the institution. In doing this, I will aim to support students in combining academics with experiential and co-curricular experiences, thus fostering their overall development into capable, contributing campus members.
I value authenticity in my work as a professional. I will strive to make each interaction with a student, staff, or faculty member impactful. I value a strong sense of teamwork, where all staff members work together efficiently towards a common goal, never sacrificing relationships for competition. I value a “work hard, play hard” attitude within an office. I believe that individuals do their best work when they enjoy the work and are positively motivated.
I value a strong sense and desire for collaboration. I am at my best when working with others, making ideas and programs better through conversation and teamwork. Though autonomy is important and necessary, I value an office culture that is non-competitive and recognizes that the team is better when working together, not against one another.
I believe that college is a time for students to develop into the person they want to be. I will support this through a commitment to their leadership and personal development, taking an active interest in their experience, and pushing their learning far beyond what they expected. When our students succeed, we all succeed.
